Q How do I become a train driver?
A All candidates deemed suitable to be considered for a Trainee Train Driver position must:
  1. Pass a driver assessment which tests such faculties as concentration, ability to react quickly, ability to operate and hand and foot controls, ability to stay calm under pressure, and ability to understand mechanical principals.
  2. Have a good standard of education
  3. Have a steady employment background
  4. Have a good state of health
  5. Be over 21 years of age

With regards to the medical requirements for the position of Driver, candidates must not suffer from epilepsy, diabetes or have any other medical condition that could cause them to become unconscious. Candidates must not be over weight and have perfect colour vision.
